Jack Harkin and Carleigh Irving with the Mayor of Derry and Strabane, Patricia Logue
Letterkenny boxer Jack Harkin was among the Oakleaf Boxing Club punchers honoured by the Mayor of Derry and Strabane, Patricia Logue.
Earlier this year, Harkin won an Ulster Elite title earlier this year and came back from the Porto Box Cup with a gold medal.
A student at St Eunan's College, Harkin overcame Matthew Boreland in the Ulster Elite bantamweight final in Belfast.
The Letterkenny teenager earned a 4-1 split decision to earn his first Ulster Elite title.
Harkin travelled to the Porto Box Cup with an Ulster High Performance squad and came back with the 54kgs gold.
Mayor Logue hosted Harkin and fellow Ulster Elite champion Carleigh Irving, a former Illies Golden Gloves boxer, as well as Irish champ Shaniece Robinson and others from the club at the Whittaker Suite of the Guildhall.
