The sun shone bright at Bundoran Races over the weekend and it was Ballyare rider Patrick McGettigan who impresed.

Fresh from his double at Oldcastle in County Meath, McGettigan struck again aboard Shake Me in the 1mile 6 furlong open.

McGettigan, who looks nailed on to follow in the footsteps of so many Donegal riders who all learned their trade at horse and pony racing, will Sign on to the Johnny Murtagh at the end of the season.

Brody Ferry is another youngster who is improving each and every week and will be stepping up to horse riding next season.

Tiernan McGill still a few years to do yet before he aims for his dream of moving to bigger things, but is on the right path.

The next meeting is Portsalon on Saturday, July 13.
