Nuala Bose won the U23 category at the Murcia Half Marathon on Sunday - on a day when her mother, Anne Marie, also competed.

Finn Valley AC athlete Bose came home in one hour, 24 minutes and 48 seconds.

Through the streets of Murcia, on the Segura River, Bose won from Anna Blaak and Carmen Martinez Sanchiz.

The Churchill household had a memorable day with Anne Marie also donning the Finn Valley AC vest and finishing in 1:41:36.

Meanwhile in Belgium, at the IFAM Indoor in Gent on Saturday, Finn Valley AC’s Sommer Lecky was third in the women’s high jump.

Lecky cleared 1.75m to take bronze in the World Athletics Indoor Tour bronze level meet.

On Sunday, Finn Valley AC’s rising race walker Leah O’Gara finished third in the women’s U18 5k at the XXXVI Gran Premio de Marcha Atlética, a part of the World Athletics Race Walking Tour in Guadix.

By the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, O’Gara clocked 26:11 to place third.

Savannah O’Callaghan of Tuam AC won in 25:31 while Ana Guzman from Spain was second in 26:04.

O’Gara’s clubmate Aoife McGranaghan set a new personal best, 18:35, in a women’s U16 3k race at the same meet.

The pair, accompanied by coach Sinead McConnell, traveled with a group of 90 members of the Rob Heffernan Race Walking Academy.

There was also a PB for Finn Valley’s Eimear McCarroll, who ran 4:48.61 over a mile at the Meyo Invitational at the Loftus Sports Center, Notre Dame, Illinois.
