Cillian Bonner lines up a field goal for North Greenville
Cillian Bonner helped North Greenville to the Conference Carolinas Championship on Saturday with a 34-20 win over UNC Pembroke in Younts Stadium.
North Greenville scored 17 points in the second quarter to lead 20-13 at half-time with Leitirmacaward native Bonner nailing a field goal early on to get the scoring underway. He also added a second field goal late in the second quarter.
The former Na Rossa man would also kick four points after touchdowns to finish with a personal tally of ten points overall.
Pembroke took the upper hand early in the second-half to even the score at 20-20. But the Trailblazers would have the last word, however. North Greenville ended the game with 14 unanswered points to put the Braves away by 14 points in the end.
North Greenville now head for the Division II Playoffs starting next weekend.
