ATU Donegal student to represent Ireland at European Volleyball Championships Qualifiers

Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Donegal student Arron Hughes is competing in the European Volleyball Championships Qualifiers in Rome this weekend.

A second year Electronic Engineering student, Hughs is a part of the Irish Men’s U22 Volleyball squad.

The former St. Louis Community School, Kiltimagh student plays as a middle blocker on the 12-man Irish squad.

Ireland are in Pool A against current World Champions Italy, previous European champions Portugal and Israel.

The games take place over the next three days.

Next week, Emma Dolan, a first year Dietetics student at ATU Donegal, will be at the European Karate Senior Championships.

Both Emma and Arron are current Sports Scholars at ATU Donegal and the application process for the New Entrant Sports Scholarship is now OPEN for NEW applications to students who will be attending ATU Donegal for the first time in Semester 1 2022/23.

Closing date for applications is Friday, July 1st at 5pm.
