Two weeks out from the 2022 Donegal International Rally, a host of competitors from the county will tackle Sunday’s Lyons of Limerick Circuit of Munster Rally.

The Triton Showers-backed Motorsport Ireland National Rally Championship enters the second half of its eight-round season this weekend and a capacity entry of 150 crews will go under starter’s orders.

The Moffett brothers from Monaghan, Josh and Sam, will be among the leading protagonists in the Rathkeale-based event.

Former triple national champion Declan Boyle from Glenties has yet to decide which car to drive, but will go in either a VW Polo GTi R5 or a Ford Fiesta WRC. Boyle will be partnered by Monaghan’s James O’Reilly.

Rising Donegal driver Eamonn Kelly will have Conor Mohan on the notes in the VW Polo GTi R5 usually driven by his father, Donagh, and they go in as the eighth seed.

Kilmacrennan’s Paddy Robinson is on the notes for fifth seed Robert Barrable while Raymond Scott, John McCaffrey and Dean O’Sullivan are co-drivers for Ed O’Callaghan, Seamus Leonard and Michael Carbin, all of whom are inside the top 20 seeds.

Other drivers from Donegal in action  this weekend include PJ McDermott, Patrick McHugh, JR McDaid, Michael Boyle, Daniel Breslin, Kyle McBride, Joseph Kelly, Adrian Cannon, Matthew Boyle, Adrian Rankin and Conor Harvey.
