Mark English recorded a season’s best time on Thursday night in Spain.
The Finn Valley AC man finished fourth in an 800m in Castellón.
English clocked 1:46.02 when competing in the VI Memorial José Antonio Cansino event - a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger meet.
The race was won by Eric Nzikwinkunda in 1:45.54 with Abdalla Abubaker Hayder second in 1:45.70 and Alberto Guerrero Cascon third in 1:45.84.
Last weekend, English finished in 1:46.42 in Watford having began his outdoor season with a 1:46.61 in Belgium.
The two-time Olympian, who set new Irish 800m records, indoor and outdoor, in 2021, has already secured qualification for the 2022 World Championships.
English has been confirmed for the Cork City Sports at the Munster Technological University on July 5 and next weekend will defend his Irish 800m crown.
In Cork, English will go up against the likes of top Britons Ben Pattison, Kyle Langford and Piers Copeland.
