Jordan Furey
Letterkenny mixed martial artist Jordan Furey will fight for a title on St Patrick's weekend.
Sock N Awe UK welterweight titlist Furey goes into the lion's den to face Charlie Hatton.
There'll be a belt on the line when Furey and Hatton clash on the Shock N Awe 34 show at the Guildhall in Portsmouth on March, 18, 2023.
Portsmouth-based Hatton is coached by Brian Adams and has a 5-2 record. Earlier this month, the 25-year-old Hatton lost to Dom Rogers.
In October, Furey (9-2) defeated Connor Tymon in Portsmouth.
Before a raucous crowd, Furey - who agreed to the bout just ten days out - showed his worth to win by a first round submission.
Furey trains out of the Straight Blast Gym in Dublin, the home of UFC kingpin Conor McGregor with Moville professional Darragh Kelly also a stable-mate.
Furey represented Ireland in the MMA Super Cup in Bahrain in March.
There, he lost out to Magomed Isaev in their welterweight bout, but recorded wins over Israel Salcido and Mitch Kelly at Khalifa Sports City. Ireland were runners-up in the competition.
