In Pictures: St Brigid's Cross making at the Old Church in Killymard

Music, dance and the tradition of cross-making in a lovely community gathering

The tradition of St Brigid's Cross making is certainly alive in well in the parish of Killymard.

People of all ages gathered in the Old St Mary's Church near Donegal Town on the eve of St Brigid's Day to make crosses and to enjoy music, dance and refreshments, as well as a chat with neighbours and friends.

Fr Francis McLoone blessed the crosses, some of which were made available in the parish church on St Brigid's Day.
