No kidding - Skerries Town want to get Finn Harps' goat up

There’s no kidding that a sizeable crew from Skerries Town FC will be at Finn Park for this evening’s FAI Cup second round tie.

The away contingent that has travelled for the Cup clash against Finn Harps includes an actual stuffed goat.

‘The Goat’ is the Skerries Town mascot and the real-life Billy is a regular at the Leinster Senior League side’s matches.

They’ll be hoping to get the goat of Dave Rogers’ Harps and cause a Cup giant killing in Ballybofey. Harps accounted for last year’s LSL champions, Kilbarrack, in their first round encounter.

Fourth in last season’s Leinster Senior League, Skerries defeated Pokrtlaoise 3-0 in the opening round.

If Alan Sweeney’s men manage to emerge victorious from their voyage to Donegal, it’s a result that would certainly rank among their GOAT.

Harps, who have named a strong line-up, will hope to pull the visitors’ horns in.
