Tyler Toland and another Donegal Irish international, Amber Barrett.
Republic of Ireland interim manager Eileen Gleeson has said that recalling Donegal’s Tyler Toland to the senior International squad was purely a football decision.
Gleeson served as former boss Vera Pauw's assistant for two years before leaving to become head coach at Glasgow City so she will have a good knowledge on what the St Johnston girl can offer at this level having previously worked together in Scotland.
Current Blackburn Rovers star Toland has been recalled to the national team squad for the first time in four seasons, with her progression previously cut short by a high-profile fallout with Pauw.
Having made her senior international debut at just 16, Toland remains Ireland's youngest-ever women's senior international. And Gleeson says her re-inclusion this week was a simple enough decision.
She explained: “This is purely a football decision. Tyler is a young Irish player who has been part of our talent pool for a long time.
“She came through our youth system and went off to the professional game. I’m sure Tyler will agree that she’s not had the game-time she wanted within clubs like Celtic and Levante.
“She’s now in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers, playing 90 weeks every week. That gives us more of an opportunity to watch her performances and consider her for the senior team.”
