Buncrana sisters Keri and Jodie Loughrey have been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the 2024 UEFA Women’s Under-19 European Championships.
The Loughrey siblings, who both play with Sligo Rovers in the Women's Premier Division, have been confirmed on the 20-player squad by Dave Connell.
The Girls in green ualified for the tournament after topping Group A2 in Round 2 of qualifying following victories over Iceland, Austria and Croatia.
The tournament will kick off on July 14th with games being played in three cities in Lithuania - Jonava, Kaunas and Marijampole - and the final will take place on July 27th.
Ireland face Spain on July 15, Germany on July 18 and Netherlands on July 21.
Connell said: "We know how difficult it will be in this group having played Netherlands in Round 1 of qualifying, Spain are the reigning champions and Germany are four-time winners. They are three of the best teams in the world at this level.
"We are fully aware of the challenge in front of us but it's something that we will embrace and aim to do ourselves proud. You always have a chance in international football so it's up to us to be as prepared as we can be and then to compete in each game."
