Shane O'Gara signed for Ballinamallard last week
Shane O’Gara was on the bench on Saturday for the season opener having signed for Ballinamallard in the Irish League last week.
The Glencolmcille native watched on as his new club opened their NIFL Championship campaign in style with a 4-0 win over Ballyclare Comrades at Ferney Park.
All the goals came after the break with Alex Holder opening the scoring just before the hour with a tidy finish past keeper Gerard Walker.
Darragh Byrne doubled to lead, Callum Moorehead added a third with Daniel Barker wrapping the scoring up right at the end for a dream first outing for new manager Mark Stafford.
Goalkeeper O’Gara previously had spells had spells with Dergvierw DC, Finn Harps, St Catherine’s, Letterkenny Rovers, Buncrana Hearts and Keadue Rovers.
