Shane Blaney will move to Motherwell next month.
The 23-year-old Letterkenny man will officially be unveiled by the Scottish Premier League outfir after the transfer window opens on January 1.
Blaney's departure from Sligo Rovers was confirmed by Bit O'Red boss John Russell on Wednesday night at a fans' forum.
Blaney will pen a multi-year deal at Fir Park.
This summer, Blaney scored a cracking free kick when Sligo Rovers defeated Motherwell 2-0 in the Europa Conference League at The Showgrounds.
Blaney moved to Doncaster in 2018 after breaking through at Finn Harps. Blaney spent the last two seasons at Sligo Rovers, but has been keen for a move across the water again.
