The Donegal Bay Sub Aqua Club Search & Recovery Unit took deliver of a new boat at the end of the week.
'Cailin Deas' will now take to the water to assist members.
The boat was sourced from Atlantic Composites in Gweedore.
“A lot of work has been achieved over the last two and half years by the present and previous committees,” the club said.
“The club were fortunate to receive support from the National Lottery, our sponsors and the public who supported our fundraising events.
“We thank all who were involved in bringing this project to fruition and we wish every diver and all those who travel on her a safe passage.”
Donegal Bay Sub Aqua Club was initially formed in 1988 for people to become scuba divers recreationally, but they subsequently trained under Comhairle Fo-Thuinn (CFT) to become search and recovery divers.
Members regularly assist services such as the Garda Underwater Unit, Irish Coast Guard and the RNLI.
