The Belleek St Patrick's Day Parade will start at 1pm on Sunday fortnight
All roads lead to the border town of Belleek this St Patrick's Day on Sunday, March 17, for the parade starting at 1pm followed by a guaranteed fun day for all the family.
A small committee of volunteers supported by Belleek Development and Heritage Group, are hoping that all local community organisations.
Townlands, schools and businesses will come forward to showcase themselves to locals and visitors alike. There are monetary prizes for the most creative float and for the funniest float with Belleek pottery sponsoring perpetual trophies - also a monetary prize for the best window display in the village. Starting on the Thursday night March 14 at 8pm there is a big traditional music session in Mulleek Community Centre - all musicians, singers and listeners are most welcome. Following on from the success of last year, Belleek pottery have organised a leprechaun hunt in the town and Centra are running an art competition for all children to take part in.
The Fiddlestone Pub is the place to be on the Friday night – a quiz fundraiser with profits going to the Air Ambulance NI starts at 8pm (table of four is £20) a fun night is guaranteed.
On Saturday Belleek pottery are having their Spring Warehouse Sale from 10am - 3pm. Afterwards why not call into The Lemon Tree Coffee House for a cuppa or a bite to eat where CCE members will be playing a few tunes. Saturday evening at 7pm Mass is in St Patrick's Church, Belleek.
On St Patricks’ day the parade starts at 1pm from the GAA centre and will travel down the main street - it will be followed by live entertainment on the Gig Rig until approx.3pm.
The Wark Hall are having a jumble sale with some great bargains and serving refreshments when you have a browse from 11am – 2pm. Many venues are doing food all day with music in the Fiddlestone from 5pm onwards. All car parks in the town are free to use. For those with energy left after a busy day, head the five miles up the road to Garrison for the annual St Patrick’s day Fíor Ceili with music by St Joseph’s Ceili Band from 8:30pm in St Mary’s Hall. We are hoping that friends and families will come to visit us in the picturesque village of Belleek on the banks of the river Erne. All in all, a real family day out to celebrate the feast of our national Saint is planned and will have something for everyone.
