Individual double for Letterkenny AC, first team medal for Milford AC

Letterkenny AC men's team, winners of the team gold in Fanad on Sunday.

Milford Athletic club captured their first ever Donegal championship medals when they finished third in the Men’s team event at the Donegal Novice Cross Country race in Fanad on Sunday.

Milford were the host club of the event which for the first time ever, took place at Triagh a Locha in Fanad. The uneven age group championships at underage level were also held with big numbers taking part.

Milford AC were the third team home behind Letterkenny AC and Finn Valley AC who were second.

In the individual race, Letterkenny AC took gold and silver with Paurice Breslin finishing in ahead of his clubmate Anthony Doherty. Inishowen AC’s David McMenamin was third.

In the Women’s race, Letterkenny AC’s Noleen Scanlon was first home ahead of Glencolmcille’s Natasha Kelly, running for Finn Valley.

Leona Mullen of Lifford/Strabane AC was third, helping her club to first place in the team event. Letterkenny AC were second and Finn Valley third.
