Finn Valley gather next Thursday to honour the efforts of athletes throughout year

Finn Valley will gather together next Thursday 7.30 as a club to recognise those athletes within their various squads that have in the past season received international recognition.
At this time as a season closes and plans are underway for the start of yet another traditionally September in the busy world of athletics the club have in recent years come together in this manner at their Centre in Stranorlar.
It has been a busy year, week in, week out, in many areas of the world from world, European, Commonwealth, Schools, Celtic, etc., etc.
While the gathering is informal it is the members', all of whom are invited, way of saying how proud they are and when compiling the list it is interesting to note the variety of the events in which theses athletes excelled topped off of course by Sommer Lecky in both Commonwealth Games, Brisbane, where she made the high jump final, to the World U-20 Championships in Tampere where a Donegal and Irish record 1.90 saw her achieve silver, a global result.
