Wind warning ahead for Donegal folk - strong and gusty winds forecast

Previous damage from windy weather at Ballyshannon as Met Éireann issues status yellow wind warning

An Alert message from Met Eireann has indicated that there will be strong and gusty winds in Donegal and elsewhere in the country for almost 24 hours starting early on Thursday morning
They say that westerly winds will be very strong and gusty from Thursday morning in the west at first, progressing eastwards from the afternoon, with particularly strong wind gusts especially around coasts and high ground in the northwest.

Possible impacts of the wind may include Power outages and possible travel disruption, Donegal County Council have indicated.

The yellow graded Yellow Wind alert is valid from 5am, on Thursday morning (January 12) until 2am on Friday morning (January 13).
