According to Met Éireann’s Climate Statement for March 2026, the highest gust was 115km/h on Wednesday, March 25.

The month’s highest 10-minute mean wind speed was 89 km/h, recorded on the same day, also at Malin Head.

Kerry clocked 19.1°C on Thursday, March 19, the highest temperature for March since 2012, considerably above the national average figure for March 2026 - 7.97 °C.

March 2026 rainfall was wetter than normal with 108% of the 1991-2020 Long Term Average (102.1mm). In Ireland, the Long-Term Average (LTA) refers to the average values of meteorological elements calculated over the last 30 years.

The highest daily rainfall total was 35.2 mm at Athenry, Co Galway, on Tuesday, March 24.
