The islands have proven to attract huge number of tourists over the last number of years and islanders are hoping to get facilities and services in place ahead of the summer.
At a recent meeting of the Island's Committee in Dungloe, islanders highlighted issues that they feel need to be addressed in the near future.
Islanders agreed that a small ferry that could carry building material in and out to the island is necessary as the cost of bringing bricks, concrete and other products out is very expensive.
The manager of Comharchumann Árainn Mhór, Noreen Muldowney said that a recycling facility is needed on the island for plastics. She added that the island roads on the island are in excellent condition but said there are three more roads she would like to see worked on.
Islanders said that Gola island needs toilets facilities and a car parking facility in Machaire Gathlán as this year two boats will be frequenting the island. It was also asked that a road towards the back of the road be brought up to standard.
The work on roads to date on the island has been commended.
The manager of Comharchumann Oileán Thoraí, Majorie Uí Chearúil said that there are works needed on the helipad at the island. She added that the top of the pier needs tidied up and that the steps on the pier need fixed.
Councillors said that Tory Island needs to have a fire engine on the island. They queried whether a second-hand engine could be acquired.
Owey island pier needs a rail and the lighting fixed.
