Final preparations are underway for one of the biggest open water swimming events in the northwest.

The annual Bundoran Bay Swim takes place on Sunday, August 18 and this year’s proceeds will go to the Bundoran Community Centre CLG.

And you don’t have to be a swimmer to join the fun, with a range of activities for all the family taking place on the same day.

A spokesperson said: “We are super excited for the swim as well as the family fun day, food truck, ball race and more.

“This is the old traditional swim and is 2.4 km. It is a fundraiser swim and not a timed race event.

There will be kayak and boat coverage the whole way. There will also be a line of markers that will guide the swimmers in.”

This swim starts at 2pm from Tullan Strand, with registration at Bundoran pier from 12pm.

Run the 5K

This year along with the annual Bundoran Bay Swim, there is a 5K which is also a fundraiser for the Bundoran Community centre.

The link to register can be accessed through the Bundoran Community Centre Facebook page.
