The 2024 Donegal Person of the Year will be announced this Saturday night.

Leo’s Tavern in Meenalack, Crolly - the home of last year’s Donegal Person of the Year Moya Brennan - First Lady of Celtic Music - will play host to the event, the Donegal Association Dublin has confirmed. The announcement will be made at a public event - all are welcome - on Saturday, from 7pm.

Each year, someone who has made a meaningful contribution to Donegal is honoured by the association. The title is currently held by Moya Brennan, with past winners including Noel Cunningham, the people of Creeslough, Jim McGuinness, Shay Given and Moya Doherty. Voting was rounded up in November.

The winner will be inaugurated as The Donegal Person of the Year 2024 at the Donegal Person of the Year Gala Ball on Saturday, March 29 in The Bonnington Hotel in Dublin.
