St Colmcille's Arch at Disert

Celebrate the rich heritage of the Disert area this Sunday, August 28 at the Bluestack Centre, Drimarone, from 10am to 2pm.

Come along and find out about the fascinating history and archaeology  of this early medieval monastic site. Learn about the pilgrimage, cures, folklore, geology and natural heritage as well at this free event which is part of national Heritage Week.

There will be an exhibition of history, folklore, art, photography and archaeological finds as well as talks from Helen Meehan on the history of Disart (11am) and Dr Fiona Beglane of IT Sligo on the results of the archaeological survey of Disert.

Enjoy some light refreshments and join informative guides for a tour of the Disert archaelogical site (12.45pm).
