Some viewers admitted they were holding back the tears last night watching the Late Late Show, where Amber Barrett gave a compelling interview.
The 27-year-old from Milford, whose mother Jacqui is from Doe Point in Creeslough, produced a 'Reelin' in the Years' moment last October when she scored the all-important goal for the Republic of Ireland as they defeated Scotland 1-0 at Hampden Park to qualify for the Fifa Women's World Cup for the first time.

After the match that night she gave a memorable live interview where she remembered the '10 beautiful souls who perished on Friday' in reference to those who passed away at Creeslough just four days' beforehand where there was an explosion at the local service station. On a week when so much was said and so much was written, her words at Hampden Park stood out for everyone.
