Watch: Ireland’s first Fife Orchestra perform at Mary From Dungloe

Idir an Dá Ghaoth, composed and conducted by Altan’s Dr Martin Tourish, brought together musicians from the Rosses Fife Bands

Ireland’s first Fife Orchestra came together to perform at the Mary From Dungloe International Arts Festival.

Idir an Dá Ghaoth, composed and conducted by Altan’s Dr Martin Tourish, brought together musicians from the Rosses Fife Bands. Fluters from Annagry, Keadue, Ranafast and Mullaghduff bands, along with musicians from Crickamore, Maghery and Meenacross, came together for the performance.

The event blended music and narration, telling the story of Donegal’s fife and drum tradition.
