Cockhill Celtic claimed a dramatic FAI Senior Cup win on Saturday as Gavin Cullen's side defeated St Mochta's 5-4 after extra time.
Adam McLaughlin scored a memorable hat-trick and Garbhan Friel netted twice in extra time as Gavin Cullen's team booked a place in the first round proper. As the highlights reel, courtesy of Gerry Crossan from Sports Performance Analysis shows, it was a game littered with incidents and goals.
Friel headed home with Cockhill's last roll of the dice as penalties loomed to, finally, win a gripping cup tie.
Liam Brady and Stephen Donnelly had St Mochta's 2-0 up at half-time. After Luke McWilliams was sent off, McLaughlin scored a brilliant free kick with his first touch.
An instant response by Michael Scott restored a two-goal cushion, but McLaughlin took the game to extra time thanks to his superb hat-trick.
Scott cancelled out a Friel penalty but, with the game clock red, it was Friel who nailed the decisive say.
