The Exchange Inishowen has celebrated an “incredible” Community Christmas Dinner in Buncrana.
The Exchange is a voluntary-run, non-profit Community Centre, which is a registered Irish charity. The Christmas Day Dinner at The Exchange has become an important occasion in the local calendar, offering warmth, companionship and a festive meal to people who might otherwise be alone on Christmas Day.
This year, the students and staff of Crana College raised €300 from their Christmas jumper day towards the cost of the Christmas Day meal. Sergeant Charlene Anderson and Garda Joe McElhinney from Buncrana Garda Station also dropped in to visit the festivities.
“What an incredible time we had at this year's Community Christmas Dinner,” shared a spokesperson for The Exchange Inishowen. “Over 40 volunteers spent three days cooking and serving to provide 150 dinners with 70 plus deliveries on Christmas Eve, 70 in person dinners on Christmas Day and more hot deliveries on Christmas Day as well.

“We are so grateful to everyone who helped to make this possible through your generous donations of money, gifts, products and time. We love our community!”
