Michael Stewart, Laghey
The death has occurred of Michael Stewart, Woodvale Lodge, Laghey, Co. Donegal, formerly Earl Street, Longford and Portnoo. He passed away on January 30, 2025, at Letterkenny University Hospital.
Deeply regretted by his loving wife Claire, son Alan (Maria), daughters Tara (Jim) and Emily (Bryan), grandchildren James, Lorcan, Grace, Bradley, Flynn, Honor and Annelie, brothers Dermot, Gerald and Brian, sisters Honor and Mary, brother-in-law Malachy Mc Closkey, sisters-in-law Margaret and Margot, nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Carnamuggagh, Letterkenny, F92XE35 on Friday, January 31 at 6pm going to his home. Removal from there on Saturday, February 1 to St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town arriving at 7pm to repose overnight. Funeral mass on Sunday, February 2 at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in Clar Cemetery. House private please.
Margaret Davin, Rathmullan
The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Margaret (Marie) Davin, Ballyboe, Rathmullan and formerly Curraheen, Ahenny, Carrick-On-Suir, Co. Tipperary and Belldyke, Larbert, Scotland.
Predeceased by her parents Will and Ellen, brothers William, Neddy and Pat and her sister Maura.
Deeply regretted by her life long friend Annie Thompson, her nephews and nieces, extended family and many friends.
Marie’s remains will repose at her late residence (Ballyboe, Rathmullan, F92V4P5) from 2pm on Saturday, February 1. Rosary at 9pm.
Requiem Mass will be held at 9 am on Sunday 2nd February in St Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan.
Interment in Rosegreen Cemetery, Rosegreen, Cashel, Co Tipperary on Monday, February 3 at 12 noon.

Mary Jo Clifford, Dublin and Carrigart
The death has occurred of Mary Jo Clifford (née McGettigan) Knocklyon, Dublin and Carrigart.
She passed away peacefully in the loving care of her family and the staff at St Vincent’s private hospital. Loving wife of Michael and devoted mother to Stephen, Peter, and Robert. Predeceased by her parents John and Winnie and her brother Séan.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, sons, grandchildren Jake, Esmé, Conor and Mollie, daughters in-in-law, sister Brigid and brothers Michael and Donal, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and neighbours.
Reposing at Fanagan's Funeral Home, Willbrook, Rathfarnham on Friday, January 31 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Funeral Mass will take place in St Colmcille's Church, Knocklyon at 12:30pm on Saturday, February 1 followed by burial at Mount Venus Cemetery. The funeral Mass can be viewed live here.
Darius McAteer, Stranorlar
The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Darius Mc Ateer, 73 Admiran Park Stranorlar.
Deeply regretted by his mother Geraldine and Rory, brothers Tristan, Odhrain, and Ruairi, close friends and relatives.
Remains reposing at McCools Chapel of Rest, Ballybofey on Thursday, January 30 and Friday, January 31 from 7pm to 9pm for family and close friends only please. Family time on the morning of the funeral.
Funeral leaving from there on Saturday, February 1 at 10.30am for requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am.
The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam.
Helen Anderson, Rathmullan and Fahan
The peaceful death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Helen Anderson, Red Brae, Rathmullan, F92 F2D5 and formerly Lisfannon, Fahan.
Deeply regretted by her loving family, husband Sidney, son Sam, brother Sean, sister-in-law Anne, niece Joanne, nephew Michael, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her son Trevor.
Reposing at her home from 6pm until 10pm on Thursday, January 30, and from 11am until 10pm on Friday, January 31. Family time on the morning of the funeral.
Requiem Mass on Saturday, February 1 at 11am in St Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan. Burial afterwards in Rathmullan Cemetery.

The death has taken place in Foyle Hospice, Derry of Elizabeth O’Haire, 35 Marian Park, Buncrana.
Predeceased by her Parents Cissie and James RIP, sadly missed by her sisters Eileen ( Nicky) Margaret Duffy (Hugh) and Kathleen Nephews, Nieces, family circle and friends.
Remains reposing at her residence from 11am on Friday, January 31.
Removal from there on Saturday, February 1 at 9.25am going to St Mary’s Oratory for 10am requiem Mass with burial afterwards in Cockhill cemetery. Family time from 11pm until 11am.

Daniel Gallagher, Dunlewey and Florida
The death has taken place in Florida on January 25 of Daniel Gallagher (Danny Darby), originally of Dunlewey, Gweedore.
Predeceased by his wife Mary, grandson John Preputnik, brothers Hughie and Dermot and infant sister Mary.
Sadly missed by his son Brian (Karen), daughters; Margaret, Ann (Dave), Deirdre (John), Pauline (Carmen), grandchildren; Sean, Brendan, Kevin, Terence, Daniel, Erin, Sarah, Annie, Christopher, Connor, Michaela, Colleen & Liam, sister; Nellie, brothers; Michael and Patrick and extended family and friends.
His remains will repose at the Community Centre in Dunlewey on Saturday, February 1, from 2pm to 8pm. Rosary at 8 pm.
Funeral Mass will take place in the Sacred Heart Church Dunlewey on Sunday, February 2, at 12 noon, with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The peaceful death has taken place on Wednesday, January 29 at Letterkenny University Hospital of James (Jimmy) Toye, Ruskey, Manorcunningham and formerly Drumany, Letterkenny.
Deeply missed by his sister Eileen Harkin (Danny) Convoy, Packie, Madge and family, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.
James is predeceased by his parents William and Jane, brothers Packie, Eddie, Liam and baby John, and his sister Maisie.

Petie McCahill, Leitir Mac a’ Bhaird
The death has occurred in his home of Petie McCahill at Dirlaugh, Leitir Mac a’ Bhaird.
Petie’s remains will be reposing in McGlynn’s funeral home on Thursday, January 30 from 4pm and rosary at 8pm with removal afterwards to his own home in Leitir Mac a’ Bhaird.
Wake at his own home on Friday, January 31 - he will from 11am with rosary again at 8pm.
Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 1 in St Bridget’s Church, Leitir Mac a’ Bhaird at 12 noon with interment afterwards in the new cemetery. House private on the morning of the funeral please.
James Francis, Malin Head
The peaceful death has taken place at his home, surrounded by his loving family of James Francis (Frank) Grant, Dunegard, Malin Head.
Beloved husband of Eileen and much-loved father of Charlie, Jim, Hugh (predeceased) and Catherine.
Deeply regretted by his grandchildren Megan, Sarah, Shannon, Callum and Ally, his daughters-in-law Lisa and Clare, extended family, friends and neighbours.
His remains will be reposing at his home from 1pm on Thursday, January 30.
Removal from there on Saturday, February 1 at 1:20pm going to St Mary’s Church, Lagg for 2pm requiem Mass followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Leila Speer (née Patterson), Ramelton and Canada
The death has taken place in Vancouver, Canada of Leila Speer (née Patterson) wife of the late William Speer, formerly of Cashelshanaghan, Ramelton.
Daughter of the late Samuel John and Isa Patterson. Predeceased by her sisters Sadie Mitchell and Millie Mitchell also her brother Jim Patterson.
Lovingly remembered by her son Ren, daughter-in-law Marilyn, grandson Brendan and Danna. Cherished sister of Isabel Hanna (Armagh), brother Mervyn Patterson and his wife Zoe (Portstewart), brother Winston Patterson and his wife Cynthia (Ballindrait) and sister-in-law Wendy, wife of the late Jim Patterson (Castlefin).
A service of Thanksgiving for her life will take place in Donoughmore Presbyterian Church, Castlefinn, Co. Donegal (F93DK40) on Sunday, February 9 at 2.30pm.
