Death notices for Donegal on Monday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

Ellen Green, Scotland and Glenvar

Ellen Green, Scotland and Glenvar

The death has occurred of Ellen Green, née Doherty, formerly of Ballinacraig, Glenvar, and Cathkin, Rutherglen, Scotland. She passed away peacefully at 3 Bridges Care Home, Glasgow on Monday, September 8, in her 103rd year. 

Beloved wife to the late Patrick and predeceased by her son Denis and daughter Frances, she is greatly missed by her loving family - daughters Una (Gallagher) and Sheila (Loughlin), sons John, Joe, Tony, sons and daughters-in-law and partners; adored grandchildren Katie, Sarah, Liam, Megan, David, Fiona, Colette, Martin, Kevin and Emma, great grandchildren Isla, Orla, Iona, Margot and Matthew; nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Ellen’s remains will be received into St Anthony’s RC Church Mar Gardens, Rutherglen, Glasgow G73 5JE, on Thursday at 6.30pm. Her Funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 9.30am, and thereafter to the Linn Cemetery for 11am. Ellen’s Funeral Mass can be viewed on the St Anthony and St Mark’s Rutherglen YouTube Channel.

Family flowers only please. If desired, donations in lieu of flowers can be made to SCIAF.

Baby Dáire Boyle, Letterkenny

Baby Dáire Boyle, Rahan, Letterkenny, son of Jade McKnight and Padraig Boyle, baby brother of Charlie, fell asleep in his Mammy and Daddy’s arms surrounded by his loving family in The National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street, Dublin.

He will be forever remembered and loved by his mammy Jade, daddy Padraig, big brother Charlie, granny and granda Amanda and William McKnight, granny and granda Marie and Seamus Boyle, his great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Baby Dáire will repose at McKnight’s family home, Rahan, Letterkenny from 11am. The house is strictly private to family and friends. Family time from after the Rosary at 9pm and on the morning of the funeral.

Mass of the Angels will take place in St Colmmcille’s Church, Fintown on Wednesday at 11am.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to The National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street, Dublin c/o any family member or Terence McClintock Funeral Director.

Fr Vincent Gallogley, Rossnowlagh and Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of Fr Vincent Gallogley, Franciscan Friary, OFM Rossnowlagh, and formally of West Port, Ballyshannon. He passed away peacefully in the gentle and exceptional care of the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff of the Northwest Hospice.

Fr Vincent is predeceased by his parents James and Patricia, brother Reggie, sisters Eileen and Carmel and nephew Paul. Fr Vincent will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and the Franciscan community.

The funeral cortège will arrive on Tuesday to the Franciscan Friary, Rossnowlagh for reception prayers at 4pm, reposing from 4.30pm to 6pm.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday in the Franciscan Friary at 11am with service of interment in the Friary grounds.

Seamus Doherty, Welchtown

The death has occurred at Larissa Lodge Nursing Home, Letterkenny, of Seamus Doherty, Kinaderry, Welchtown, Ballybofey, F93 XP65.

Beloved husband of the late Pauline, much loved father to Patrick and John; sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sons, neighbours and very many friends.

Family time from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral leaving his late residence on Tuesday at 10.30 am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin at 11am Interment afterwards in Kilteevogue cemetery. Requiem Mass can be viewed live on the parish webcam

George Moore, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of George Moore, Swilly View, Ballymaleel, Letterkenny F92 W7V7.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Eileen, sons Derek (Hilary), Laurence (Nuala) and Raymond (Colleen), daughter Audrey Gamble (Donald), brother Ernie, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. George is predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters.

George’s remains will repose at his late residence on Monday from 12 noon until 10pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from there on Tuesday at 1.15pm going to Conwal Parish Church, Church Lane, Letterkenny for 2pm Funeral Service of Thanksgiving. Interment will take place afterwards to Gortlee Cemetery, Letterkenny.

Immediate family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to Medical 8 Ward and Palliative Care Letterkenny University Hospital c/o any family member.

Peter McMenamin, Bruckless

The death has occurred of Peter McMenamin, Station Road, Bruckless, peacefully at his home in his 97th year.

Peter will be sadly missed by his extended family, neighbours and friends. 

His remains are reposing on Monday from 4pm to 7pm at Shovlin's Funeral Home, Ardara, F94 AZ50.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon in the Church of St Joseph and St Conal, Bruckless with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Brother Danny McFadden, Dun Laoghaire, and Falcarragh

The death has occurred of Brother Danny McFadden, late of Dun Laoghaire and formerly of Ballyboes, Falcarragh.He passed away peacefully on September 19 in the wonderful care of the sisters and staff of Our Lady’s Manor, Dalkey.

Beloved son of the late Bernard and Sophia, loving brother of Annie Ferry (Barney) and the late James. Sadly missed by his sister, nephews and nieces, his Brothers-in-Religion, extended family and friends.

His remains are reposing on Monday in Quinn’s of Glasthule A96EW88 from 4pm to 6pm.

Removal on Tuesday to St Joseph’s Church, Glasthule arriving for 10am Funeral Mass which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/glasthule followed by burial in Deans Grange Cemetery.
