Letterkenny councillor Jimmy Kavanagh has welcomed the announcement that Woodlands National School in the town will qualify for a grant to replace prebabs with permanent classrooms.

Five schools in the county qualify for the scheme, Minister for Education Ruairi Quinn revealed.

“This will improve facilities for students and teachers, save money that is currently being thrown away on rented prefabs, and create much needed employment. I am delighted that Woodlands N.S. is among the schools being offered this grant,” said cllr. Kavanagh.

The news was also endorsed by Senator Jimmy Harte.
