A woman in her 20s has been arrested by gardaí investigating the death of a man in a hit-an-run incident near Bundoran in late August.
Alan McSherry (48) died as a result of injuries sustained on a country road at Ardfarna, close to Bundoran on August 25th last.
The woman who was arrested is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Ballyshannon Garda Station.
Detectives believe Mr McSherry may have been walking on a narrow unlit country road to his home at 4.40am on the night in question. His body was discovered at 5.10am by his wife Jo as she drove from her home in search of him.
Mr McSherry had moved from Birkenhead near Liverpool with his wife to Bundoran more than 15 years ago and was well known locally.
