Looking good back in 1992
Those sweet, innocent photos from 33 years ago when the Magee jersey was the one to be seen wearing.
Can anyone work it out from those pictures?
Born in the shadow of Glengesh, he might be now living in Longford but it is Donegal blood that flows through those veins. His passion for Donegal is widely known, especially through the airwaves of Ocean FM.
Yes, happy 40th birthday today to the one and only Paddy McGill, who is the commentator for all Donegal games on the north west radio station. It is as if he was made for the radio and his podcasts before and after Donegal games are now legendary.
His voice was missing off the airwaves this autumn, but for a very good reason as he was a member of the backroom coaching team of his new club in Longford, Ardagh-Moydow, who went on to win their first Longford Intermediate title.
But we expect to hear his inimitable voice once more in the New Year when the Dr McKenna Cup and National League resumes.
And judging by the family genes, we can expect to be hearing Paddy’s voice for some time to come. This week will mark a double celebration in Ardara and in county Clare for Paddy and the family as his granny will celebrate her 100th birthday on Saturday next in Scariff.
