Two teams still without a victory in the Ulster Minor Ladies Championship meet this coming Saturday in Emyvale as Monaghan play host to Donegal (2pm).

For Monaghan, it’s their final game in Section A and it follows defeats against Antrim, Cavan and most recently Tyrone.

Donegal still have a chance of making the plate final in this competition, but after heavy defeats against Cavan (a) and Tyrone (h), they will need a big performance if they are to get the better of a strong Monaghan team who ran Tyrone very close in their last outing two weeks ago.

Donegal, managed by Francie Martin, haven’t been helped by a string of injuries which have left them without a number of key players for their two championship outings to date.

Their last game was against Tyrone in Glenfin at the end of February and they hope to have a stronger panel to select from this weekend with the likes of Aoibheann O’Connell and Aobha Posoma (both Downings) and Caoimhe Doherty (Urris) available again after missing the last game.

Aoibheann McGarrigle (Aodh Ruadh) has missed the entire campaign because of injury, but  made a welcome return to training last week.

After Saturday’s game, Donegal play host to Antrim in their final group match on Saturday week, April 2.
