David Dolan scored 2-4 for Aodh Ruadh against Milford
David Dolan was the toast of Aodh Ruadh on Sunday night following his team's away win over Milford in Moyle View Park in Division One.
MILFORD ............... 1-9
AODH RUADH ........ 3-11
The corner forward scored 2-4 of his team's total in the eight-points win.
It was Aodh Ruadh's first victory since returning to Division One at the start of the season.
And come the end of the season, this could well prove a significant result as the battle to avoid the drop could well involve several teams.
Both of the goals were scored in the second half as Aodh Ruadh came back from one down at half-time to take the points.
Cathal McGettigan, David Curley, Christopher Barrett, and Kane Barrett did the scoring for the locals in the first half
Dolan, Nathan Boyle, Cian Dolan and David McInerney scored for Aodh Ruadh.
The visitors played with the stiff breeze in the second half and by the three quarter mark they had hit the front.
They led by two points when Dolan struck for the first of the goals.
Tony McNamee netted almost immediately at the other end.
But the momentum was with the Ernesiders. They were working hard and chasing down every ball as if their lives depended on it.
And they were rewarded with further goals from Nathan Gallagher and Dolan who fittingly brought the curtain down on the scoring with a late goal and point.
The win moves Aodh Ruadh out of the relegation places and gives them a first victory in five outings.
For Milford, it was a disappointing result, especially after their fine performance the previous Sunday when they drew away to champions Kilcar.
