Bundoran Retail Park
Planning permission was conditionally granted by Donegal County Council for a day care centre for people with intellectual disabilities in Bundoran.
Listed applicant, Bundoran Rentals Ltd, successfully applied for the change of use of Unit 6A at Bundoran Retail Centre, from a play centre to a day service centre for people with intellectual disabilities and alteration to the internal layout of the unit.
Included in the proposal was the construction of windows to the side and rear elevations, and a fire escape/access door to the rear, construction of an access ramp and external step to the rear of the building to create access to the lower external level, and all associated site development works.
Paul Doherty Architects Ltd, on behalf of the applicant, stated: “As this application is for a change of use of an existing vacant unit to provide a day care centre, and as the number of people attending the day care centre, and the number of proposed employees will be greatly reduced from the number of daily visitors to the previously approved use, the car parking requirement for this proposal will be considerably less than previously granted.”

Donegal County Council granted the planning permission with four conditions, imposed to ensure orderly development, prevent flooding, and define the permission.
It was considered by the Planning Authority, “that the proposed development would, therefore, be in accordance with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.”
