The body of a female has been recovered during a rescue operation in Kerrykeel this afternoon.
At approximately 1.30 pm Gardaí, local emergency services and the coast guard were alerted when a car was seen entering the water off a pier at Kerrykeel.
The body of a female in her thirties was subsequently taken from the water.
The body has since been removed to the Letterkenny University Hospital for a post mortem examination.
The local coroner has been notified.
