Caitriona Jennings was second in Perth

Caitriona Jennings was second in the Perth Marathon on Sunday in Australia.

The Letterkenny woman finished in 2:44.22 for 14th overall and was the second woman home.

Fridah Too was the leading female, finishing in 2:42.13 while Sarah Jerop was third in 2:48.06.

Jennings was 12th in the world 50k World Championships last year having been third in the IAU 100k World Championships in Berlin the previous year.

In December, Jennings - who competed in the women’s marathon at the 2012 Olympic Games in London - and fellow Letterkenny AC athlete Ciaran McGonagle will represent Ireland at the 100km World Championships in India.
