Third spot for Frosses native Eamonn Kelly in Junior WRC Rally in Sweden 

After a tough few days racing between the Swedish snow banks, Kelly and Mohan kept their cool to grab a podium finish and take third place overall in the event

Third spot for Frosses native Eamonn Kelly in Junior WRC Rally in Sweden

Eamon Kelly, with Monaghan’s Conor Mohan on pace notes, has finished third in the JWRC Rally in Sweden.

After a tough few days racing between the Swedish snow banks, Kelly and Mohan kept their cool to grab a podium finish.  

On the first day’s stage, despite suffering a small spin, their Rally 3 Fiesta moved up to fourth position only 3.7s seconds off the podium

The second half of day seen the Irish pair’s pace continue to improve leaving them in third spot overnight.

On the second day, Kelly set two second fastest stage times and moved up to second place by the midday service. 

Two small spins on their evening run thankfully caused no damage but the crew dropped a position into third overnight.

The final day was a balancing act between pace and endurance and it left Kelly with some work to do as he held third by only 1.2 seconds. 

However, they would hold off that pressure to deservingly take third spot overall.
