Former Aodh Ruadh player Sean Taylor was part of the coaching staff of Sligo Grammar School, who won the Connacht Colleges Cup this week.

Taylor, whose company, Taylored Performance Coaching, has been part of the strength and conditioning for the college's rugby team, a role he also performs for Sligo GAA.

Taylor is a member of the Sligo GAA senior panel as one of the goalkeepers, while he plays outfield for Coolera Strandhill, reaching the Donegal senior final with them last year.

He won a Donegal Intermediate Championship medal with Aodh Ruadh in 2020 and has been part of Donegal minor and U-21 panels in the past.

Speaking after the rugby win on Tuesday, which means that Sligo Grammar School have won the league and cup double, he said: "Yesterday was one of the most enjoyable days of my coaching career to date. The intensity, the atmosphere, the desire to win was above and beyond expectations.

"These young lads have put in some serious work over the past year within their school, clubs and provincial teams and they got their reward yesterday. Their traditional chant echoed around the sports grounds after their win! Their name will go on!
"I’m proud to say that my coaching was a fraction of their success."
