Ciara Grant is an SWPL winner with Hibernian
Ciara Grant helped Hibernian to the SWPL title in dramatic fashion with a last-day win over Glasgow Rangers.
The Letterkenny native and former Ballyraine FC player started in defence for the winners, who went into the match three points clear at the top of the table in what was effectively a ‘winner takes all’ encounter with their title rivals.
Rangers went in the clash with a much stronger goal difference, meaning a win at Ibrox would have seen them leapfrog Hibs to take the title.
Hibernian knew a draw would be enough to seal the championship, and the game remained tight for much of the contest.

But the breakthrough came in the 74th minute when Linzi Taylor found space in the Rangers box and guided a volley into the bottom corner.
Rangers’ chances were further dashed when Laura Rafferty was sent off in stoppage time, helping Hibs hold on to claim the league title for the first time in nearly two decades.
