Erin McLaughlin feels as if Glasgow City is the right fit.

The 22-year-old Culdaff woman has signed a two-year contract at the SWPL side.

McLaughlin featured for Portsmouth in the FA Women’s Championship last season, but now moves north.

“It feels great to be here,” McLaughlin said.

“With how positive the environment is, how successful the club has been, and after speaking with Leanne (Ross) - it seemed like the right move for me."

McLaughlin reached new heights at Seamount United after spells at Culdaff and Sion Swifts and was a Women’s Premier Division winner with the Peas in 2023.

McLaughlin has now been capped three times by the Republic of Ireland at senior level and was part of the squad for two recent friendly matches against the United States.

Glasgow City head coach Leanne Ross said of McLaughlin: “She’s an exciting young talent with a great deal of potential and we’re confident she’ll continue to develop here.

"Erin has proven herself in the domestic leagues in Ireland and England, and has been capped at international level. We’re excited to see her grow in our environment and to see what she can contribute to the team."
