Shields wins Lifford 5k

FOYLE VALLEY ATHLETIC CLUB’S Keith Shields was the first man home at the Lifford 5k race yesterday moring.

Shields came home in a time of 15.34, whcih was 19 seconds in front of Gerard Gallagher from Finn Valley Athletic Club. Gallagher’s clubmate Dean Toland was third in a time of 16.37. Ann Marie McGlynn from Lifford Athletic Clun won the ladies event in a time of 17.42, while her clubmate Natasha Adams was second in 18.45.

In the juvenile one-mile event, Alan McGinley from Lifford Athletic Club was the winner with a time of 5.59, while his clubmate Niall Quinn was second eight seconds back. Dean Quigley, also of Lifford AC, was third on 6.33.
