Reports in England yesterday linked Seamus Coleman with a move to Bayern Munich.
The Killybegs native has been catching the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs in recent times with both Manchester United and Chelsea understood to be keeping tabs.
However, the 26-year-old Everton right-back is also said to be attracting the interest of the German champions.
Bayern are on the look-out for new full-backs to replace the experienced Philipp Lahm and Rafinha.
Meanwhile, Shay Given was back in the Aston Villa side on Sunday in their 2-1 FA Cup fifth round over Leicester City at Villa Park.
Given, who will be 39 in April, put in a man of the match performance.
The Lifford native has featured in cup games for Villa for the last three seasons but with Tim Sherwood replacing Paul Lambert as manager yesterday there might be a chance to return to the starting team in the Premier League. Villa welcome West Brom in the sixth round.
Shane Duffy’s Blackburn Rovers are also in the last eight of the FA Cup, where they have been drawn away to Liverpool, after their 4-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday.
