The reserves had a good win over Gaoth Dobhair, in the junior ComórtasPeile Na Gaeltachta at the weekend. They won on a 0-12 to 1-4 scoreline.

The U14 hurlers are Donegal Féile na nGael champions once again following the weekend county finals and wins over Dungloe/Gaoth Dobhair and Burt and draw with St Eunan’s.


The Division Three league starts this weekend and our reserves and seniors play Fanad this Saturday (March 19th) in Straid.

The minor boys got their league campaign off to a winning start last Wednesday night with a victory over Carndonagh on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-06.

Congratulations to Padraic Skelly on making it thought the under 16 county development squad trials and has now made the development squad. The club will also be represented in the county ladies u-16 squad by, Tara Hegarty, Aoibh Faulkner, Eimear McLaughlin Niamh and Clodagh Skelly when they take on Tyrone next Sunday and with Liam Skelly at the helm it will be another proud day for our members to represent our club at county level.

The all county league begins on Saturday afternoon when the club welcome Red Hughs, to the Carrick field.

The lotto results for March 7th were 5,11,16,21. The jackpot was not won. The €50 winner Eddie McIntyre c/o The Baker. Next week’s jackpot is €5,700.


Malin beat Carndonagh in the Tom Farren Memorial Cup on Saturday on a scoreline of Malin 2-16 Carndonagh 2-9. The Donkey Dung Draw took place at the fun-quiz last Friday evening with Declan Walsh winning the €1000 first prize.

The last day for the collection of membership renewal for 2016 takes place in the clubhouse on Thursday 17th March from 11.30am.

The club are running a Sports medicine and Nutrition talk on Wednesday the 23rd of March at 8.00pm upstairs in the clubhouse.

The Annual Big Breakfast takes place on St Patrick's Day Thursday 17th of March from 9.30am to 2.00pm upstairs in our Clubhouse.

The u12/13 and 14 ladies training is beginning on Friday the 18th at the Astroturf in the RCS. All girls must bring a gumshield. Anyone wanting to join will be gladly welcomed.

The ladies are hosting a 5k competitive / fun run / walk on Friday the 25th of March to raise much needed funds. Registration will be at the clubhouse at 4:30pm with the run beginning at 5:30pm. Entry is €5 or €20 for a family. There will be refreshments served also in the clubhouse afterwards.

The seniors advanced to the semi finals of the Gaeltacht on Saturday after a hard fought victory over Termon.

Last man standing is down to four. Donegal’s defeat at the hands of Roscommon at the weekend accounted for 12 of the 20 that were remaining. Armagh, Derry, Fermanagh and Mayo also let a few people down. The four remaining are TJ Evesson, Oisin Barrett, Martin Callan and Ciaran Kelly who all had Cork backed to beat Monaghan. Martin and CIaran have picked Galway for the next game, while TJ has Dublin and Oisin has Derry.

Well done to Ryan McMahon and Ronan Docherty who featured for the Donegal U17s in their 0-13 to 0-4 win over Fermanagh at the weekend.

Well done to Shaun Paul Barrett whose Donegal Minors got off to a winning start in their opening Ulster league game at the weekend. They defeated Fermanagh by 9 points, 2-11 to 0-8, in Ballyshannon on Saturday.

Our Minors have had a great start to the season! Their first league game took place on Sunday week where they defeated Termon 5-08 | 3-10 ! They played their second game on Sunday past in what was a thrilling away win against Milford.

The deadline for payment of membership is March 25th. We will hold one final registration night on Friday 18th from 8 to9 pm at the club house.

The ladies board have pots of shamrocks on sale at various outlets throughout the parish and beyond. They are priced at €5 each and funds raised go towards the running of the club!

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot of €5,000 in week 35 draw held in the Abbey Hotel on Monday night. The men’s senior and reserve teams are hosting a fundraising quiz night in Dom’s Pier 1 on Friday the 1st of April starting at 9:30pm. Entry fee is €5 per person and teams of 4 people are recommended

The club is entering the St Patricks Day Parade. All underage members are welcome to attend, we are meeting at 2:30pm outside McPhilemy’s, beside the bridge. Underage members are asked to wear club jerseys or tops if possible.


The weekly lotto draw took place on Monday 14th March 2016. The numbers drawn were 6, 22, 25 and 26. There was no jackpot winner. Twelve people matched two numbers. Five lucky winners were then drawn out with each receiving €20. The All County Leagues get underway this weekend and both teams are away to Dungloe in Division 1 .

In the recent National Draw St. Michael’s were second overall in the county most tickets sold. Well done to Kieran McGinley who played a starring role in the county minors victory over Fermanagh at the weekend.

St. Michael’s are taking part in the Parades in Creeslough and Dunfanaghy on St. Patrick’s Day and all help would be appreciated.

There was no Jackpot winner in the Mini Lotto on Sunday night. The numbers drawn were 4,8,10,14,16,18. There were no Match 5 winners, 19 people matched 4 and their names were drawn; the winner of the €100 was Sadie McFadden, Roscad. This weeks Jackpot be €3000. The Club will hold a registration evening in the Wild Atlantic Camp in Creeslough on Tuesday the 15th March from 7pm to 8pm.


The senior team secured a place in the semi final of the Gaeltacht championship with a one point victory after extra time against the Glenfin reserves on last Saturday afternoon. They travel to Glenswilly on St Patrick's day to play in that semi final. Throw in as at 3pm.

The first league game of the season takes place this Saturday in Castlefinn. Throw in to be confirmed at training.

The final 5km took place on Sunday with 172 people registering! In total €5,453.28 was raised from Operation Reformation and the 5km which left each of our chosen charities with €1,363.32 each. Our four charities were the Friends of the Bill W Club, Donegal Town, The Patients Comfort fund in the Killybegs Community Hospital, Clara House and The Donegal Cancer Bus.

Our u8s and u10s will be taking part in the St Patrick’s Day parade in Glencolmcille this Thursday could all parents please have their children in club gear at the Beach carpark at 2:45pm.


There will be another registration day this Saturday 19th from 2pm to 4pm at the clubroom. It is essential that we have all members and players registered in the coming week.

The minors had no game at the weekend and are fixed to play Glenswilly at Pairc na nGael next Tuesday.

Gaeil Leitirceanainn are entering a float in this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Letterkenny on Thursday 17th March. All club members are invited to take part and we welcome as many children and young people as possible to join us on the day, dressed in club colours. The indoor underage football training will take a break for a few weeks and move outside to Pairc na nGael after Easter.

Well done to our U14 who started the league with a 1-11 to 1-6 victory away to Ardara. Naomh Conaill Minors had a successful start with a 7-16 to 0-7 win over Killybegs.

Training continues in the GAA Centre for U-6’s and U-8’s every Wednesday evening and for U-10 and U-12 on Thursday evenings. Both evenings from 6pm—7pm.

All membership fees must be paid before March 20th. Anybody not paid before this date will not be insured and therefore will not be allowed to play or train on the pitch.

The minor board are taking part in the St Patrick’s Day parade in Downings on Thursday evening. The children are asked to be at the old post office at 5.30 in their club colours.

Aodh Ruadh

Membership: Closing date is March 31st. We are now able to take registrations in Gerry Ferguson's Jewellers.

Aodh Ruadh are delighted to announce their first ever Easter Camp. The camp will run from Wednesday 30th March to Friday 1st April.

Our seniors continue their pre-season build up with a challenge this Sunday at the park against Erne Gaels a 11am. The seniors are hosting a Texas Hold 'Em poker this Friday in Mellys.

Aodh Ruadh opened their minor campaign with a 3-5 to 0-9 win over Kilcar. They are way to Naomh Ultan on 22nd at 6.30.

Aodh Ruadh under 14 girls welcomed Glencar Manorhamilton to Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh and emerged victorious.

Hurling: Hard luck to the Donegal under 17s who lost out to Tyrone in round two of the Celtic Challenge Cup on Saturday last in Garvaghey on a 4-12 to 2-16 scoreline. Stephen Anderson and Brian McHenry were both on the starting 15 with both lads played well. They play Derry this Saturday in round three of this new inter-county tournament.

This Sunday we are hosting the county B Féile with Four Masters, Setanta, Letterkenny Gaels and Aodh Ruadh the teams taking part.

There was no winner of last week's Aodh Ruadh Lotto jackpot of €3,600. The winning numbers drawn were 4, 6, 14, 15, 16 and 17. In the lucky dip €20 went to Bridget Quinn, Knather Road; Dylan McGloin, Glenade; William Doogan, Kildoney; Donna Meade, Corker Lane; and Ita Doherty, Cluain Barron. Next draw is on Sunday in Pat's Bar with a Jackpot of €3,700 on Sunday at 8.30pm. The lotto team for McCosker’s Centra Saturday is: SENIOR FOOTBALLERS.


There was no winner of our weekly flotto, the numbers drawn were7, 16, 19 and 22. Nearest were Grainne McNelis, Corner House and Conell Melly, Owenea Bridge. Next week’s jackpot stands at €4,600.

The senior and reserve teams have been drawn against Dungloe, Bundoran, and Glenswilly in this years championship draw. The seniors get their league campaign under way this Sunday with a home clash against Glenswilly (3pm throw-in).

The date for accepting membership closes on March 31. It’s important to have your membership paid by then as it will be a contributory factor when tickets for Donegal games are handed out later in the season.

The club is holding a Night at the Races in the Lake House on Saturday, April 2 at 8.30pm. Funds raised from the event will go towards all adult teams. Cards are currently in distribution. For more information contact James McHugh on 087 2222277.

The U14s went down by five points to Naomh Conaill on Saturday. Missed goal chances in the first half with the wind proved costly as the hosts only went in with a one-point lead at the break. Still, a lot of positives can be taken from the game against what was a strong Naomh Conaill side. Final score 1-11 to 1-6.
