RNLI: Bundoran RNLI Annual Dinner Dance takes place this Friday in the Great Northern Hotel. Music by Mike Denver Showband. Tickets €25 available from any member of the RNLI or at the door on the night. Meals served at 8pm.
Concern Fast: Bundoran’s 26th Concern Christmas Fast and Street Collection which took place on Wednesday 22nd December was a wonderful success. Fifty four people braved the freezing temperatures to man the six collection points bringing in Є2784 on the streets. The pupils of St. Macartan’s N.S., Bundoran, raised Є400 in their annual December fundraising for Concern. Private contributions, jars of coins etc brought in a further Є2,722 bringing the total lodged to Concern so far to Є5,906. A huge thank you to anyone who collected , donated or assisted in any way. I would like to remember all those who helped with the collection in past years but who are no longer with us. May they rest in peace. Wishing you all health, joy, peace and happiness in 2011.
Dance and Singing Classes: Stars of the West Children’s Dance and Singing Classes have resumed on Saturday mornings in the Pastoral Centre, Church Road. Ages 4 to 15+ years. Hist Soc: The Magh Ene Historical Society Calendar for 2011 is still on sale in various outlets in the town and is selling very well. Priced at €7.50 it makes an ideal gift for family and friends who have connections with Bundoran.

Watch your dog: It has been noticeable over the past couple of weeks with the break in the weather that locals are enjoying the wonderful walks of Rougey and the West End. However, some have found that walking is being spoiled by dog poop along the paths. Could walkers with their dogs at the very least stop them fouling on the pavements. It is an offence and while most adhere to the regulations, others in the minority are showing disrespect to their fellow walkers.

Bundoran Tidy Towns AGM 2011: Although in existence just under one year the Bundoran Tidy Towns Group had a number of clean-ups last year and an improved score in the national Tidy Towns competition 2010. The group has some new plans for 2011 including a residential area competition and some gardening help as well as clean-ups and litter awareness campaigning for town and shoreline. The group will hold its first AGM this Thursday 27th January at 8:00 pm upstairs in SuperValu to elect the officers for the coming year and outline some plans for approval. Western Waves: A Table Quiz will be held in the Carlton Hotel, in Belleek on Friday 4th February 2011 at 9.00p.m. sharp. €20.00 per team of four. Bring a team or come along and help make a team. In addition to a prize, winners will be offered an opportunity to develop a quiz for the radio. Proceeds are in aid of Western Waves Community Radio.
