Death notices for Donegal

The following deaths have taken place:

- Rory O'Kelly, Dublin, Raphoe and Letterkenny

- John Rodgy McMenamin, Inver

- Eamonn Gillespie, Carrick

- Anne Mc Clafferty, Dunlewey

- Jane Boyle, Stranorlar and Portnablagh

- Ralph McMenamin, Bruckless and Mayo

- Marian Celine McMonagle, Letterkenny

Rory O'Kelly, Dublin, Raphoe and Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Rory O'Kelly, Finglas, Dublin and formerly of Raphoe and Letterkenny. He passed away peacefully, at the Mater Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. 

Beloved husband and soulmate of Maggie and devoted father of Debbie, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife and daughter, son-in-law David, cherished grandson Rián, his sisters Suzanne, Cora, Ingrid, Finola, Derry, Dolores and brother Páid, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family, friends and neighbours. Rory is predeceased by his parents Maura and Patrick, sister Barbara and brother Dom.

His remains are reposing at his home on Monday from 5pm to 7pm. 

Funeral on Tuesday to St Canice’s Church, Finglas Village arriving for 11am Requiem Mass, followed by Cremation in Glasnevin Crematorium.

John Rodgy McMenamin, Inver

The death has occurred of John Rodgey McMenamin, Castleogary, Inver and formerly of Aghyaran.

He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his wife Denise, his four sons Paul (Gráinne), Stephen, Benny (Edel), Denis (Enya), his three step-daughters Shannon (Shane), Rachel and Ciara (Paul), his beautiful grandchildren Amy (Jamie), Shea, Séan, Kian, Conor and Riley.

His remains are reposing at his late residence in Castleogary, Inver, F94 YE00, from 1pm on Saturday.

Removal from there on Monday, going to St Naul's Church, Ardaghey for Funeral Mass at 11am, with interment afterwards in the local cemetery. The funeral mass will be live-streamed on the St Naul's parish, Inver, Facebook page

Eamonn Gillespie, Carrick

The death has taken place peacefully in his sleep at home, of Eamonn Gillespie, Carrick. 

Predeceased by his wife Mary, his parents James Edward and Joan and his brother Martin, Eamonn will be sadly missed by his daughter Maureen (Carl) his sons Gary and Paul, his grandchildren Jason, Thomas, Amy, Leah and Shay, his brothers Anthony, Kevin, Raymond and David, his sisters Eileen and Geraldine, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of relatives and friends.

His remains are reposing at McCabe's Funeral Home, Ardara, F94 VCK1 on Saturday from 12.30pm to 7pm and again on Sunday from 12 noon to 3pm.

Removal to St Columba’s Church, Carrick on Sunday, travelling via Killybegs, to arrive at 4pm.

Funeral Mass on Monday at 11 am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Anne Mc Clafferty, Dunlewey

Dhéanfar í a fhaire i dTeach Tórraimh Uí Rabhartaigh sná Doirí Beaga (F92 DN4X) Dé hAoine ón 4 - 8 agus arís Dé Sathairn ón 3 - 8. Déarfar an paidrín an dá oíche ag a 8 a chlog.

Cuirfear í Dé Domhnaigh sa reilig áitiuil i ndiaidh Aifreann Tórraimh ag a 12 a chlog i dTeach Pobail an Chroí Ró-Naofa, Dún Lúiche..(F92 N668)

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Anne Mc Clafferty of Dunlewey, Gweedore and formerly of Ranafast, Annagry.

Predeceased by her husband James; sadly missed by her daughters Elaine, Anna, Olivia and Máirín, son Seamus, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, 11 grandchildren, brothers Eoin and Micheal and extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at Roarty's Funeral Home Derrybeg, F92 DN4X, on Friday from 4pm - 8pm and Saturdayfrom 3pm - 8pm. Rosary nightly at 8pm.

Anne's Funeral Mass will take place on Sunday at 12noon in the Church of the Sacred Heart Dunlewey, F92 N668, with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed live on Kieran Roarty Funeral Director's Facebook page and on the Church webcam via MCN Media.

Jane Boyle, Stranorlar and Portnablagh

The death has occurred of retired psychiatric nurse, Jane Boyle, née Mc Fadden, 3 Woodlawn, Stranorlar, formerly Faugher, Port Na Blagh. She passed away peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Archview Lodge Nursing Home, Letterkenny, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Charlie, parents Patrick and Winnie; much loved Mum to Paul (Ursula) and Oliver (Siobhan), dearly loved grandmother of Charlie and Freddie, cherished sister of Charlie Mc Fadden, Patrick Mc Fadden, John Mc Fadden and the late Eileen, and Michael. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her loving sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brothers, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence on Friday and Saturday from 2pm to 9pm with Rosary each night at 8pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral leaving her home on Sunday at 10am for Requiem Mass in Holy Cross Church Dunfanaghy F92 KF57 at 11.30am, followed by interment in the adjoining Churchyard. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live on the church webcam

Donations in lieu if so desired directly to the Alzheimers Society of Ireland at  or Archview Lodge patients comfort fund, care of any family member.

Ralph McMenamin, Bruckless and Mayo

The death has occurred after a short illness, of Ralph Mc Menamin, Heather House County Mayo and formerly of Bruckless.

Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Rose his brothers Paul, Anthony, Martin and Brendan his sister Kathleen Gallagher, Ralph will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his sisters Rosemary Devaney, Bridie Degnan, Theresa Ward, Jennifer McMenamin, brother Stephen McMenamin brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, friends and staff of Heather House.

Funeral arriving to the Church of St Joseph & St Conal, Bruckless, County Donegal, F94 CH02, on Friday evening for prayers at 8pm.

Funeral Mass for the repose of his soul on Saturday at 11am burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery .

Marian Celine McMonagle, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Marian Celine McMonagle, 2 St Eunan’s Terrace. Letterkenny.

Predeceased by her parents, Francie and Annie, brothers John, James and Barney, sisters Mary, Kitty and Annie, she is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, sister Lena, brothers Patrick and Frankie, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family and many friends.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence from 12 noon until 5.30pm on Good Friday with removal to St Eunan’s Cathedral for Reception Prayers at 6pm to repose overnight.

Service of Liturgy at 12 noon on Saturday, which can be viewed online at www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by burial in the family plot in Conwal Cemetery.
