The following deaths have taken place: 

Mary Elliott, Doochary

Mary Elliott, Doochary

The death has occurred of Mary Elliott (nee O'Donnell), Doochary. She died peacefully, following a long illness borne with great strength and dignity, surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful tender care of the staff of Áras Mhic Shuibhne.

Beloved wife of Manus and much loved by her children Rosemarie, Annette and Simon, her grandchildren Enda, Paul, Maria, Cian, Eoin, Katie and Luke, her sons-in-law Oliver and Liam, daughter-in-law Mary, her sister Bridget, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Her remains are reposing at Mc Glynn's Funeral Home Dungloe on Thursday from 6pm until Rosary at 8pm, followed by removal to her home in Doochary. Her remains will repose at home on Friday from 2pm with Rosary at 8pm.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 2pm in St Conal's Church, Doochary, followed by burial in the new cemetery.

Seán McElwee, Dublin and Donegal

The death has taken place of McElwee Seán (Mac Giollabhuí), of Malahide, Dublin and formerly of Donegal.

Predeceased by his wife Jean, Seán will be deeply missed by his partner Máire, his four sons Niall, Shane, Naoise and Muiris, their partners Sylwia, Jess, Giselle and Lindsay, his grandchildren Seán, Nella, Seosamh, Hugh and Saorlaith, his sister Sheila, his brothers Seamus and Hugh, his nephews and nieces, his extended family, and his wide circle of friends.

Seán will repose at his home in Malahide, Dublin on Friday from 6pm to 8pm. Seán will subsequently repose in Óstán Loch Altan, Gortahork from 5pm to 9pm on Sunday, with Rosary at 9pm. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on: https://mcnmedia.tv/Camera/christ-the-king-gortahork

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11am in Teach Pobail Chríost Rí, Gortahork before burial in Fintown Cemetery.

Bridget Boyle, Cloghan

The peaceful death has occurred of Bridget Boyle (née Marley), Reelin Bridge, Cloghan in the Finn View Ward, St Joseph's Community Hospital, Stranorlar, surrounded by her loving Family.

Deeply regretted by her four children, John, Mary, Hugh and Ann; sons-in-law Seamus, Archie; daughters-in-law Alice and Sonya. Devoted Granny to Clara, Jason, Aaron, Bronagh, Cian, Daithi, Aoibh, Ethan, Elen, Fay, Janey, Katy and great grandmother to Sienna.

Her remains will repose in the family home at Garvin, Cloghan from 10am Friday. The Rosary will take place both nights at 8pm.

Removal from her home at 1pm for Requiem Mass at 1.30pm Sunday to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin, with burial afterwards in Kilteevogue Cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to the Cloghan Day Centre. 

Katie Forde, Letterkenny

The death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice of Katie Forde (nee Bourne) Carnamuggagh Upper, Letterkenny, F92X4XO.

Predeceased by her loving husband Tony. Sadly missed by her loving children Kate and husband Colin, Mickey and wife Pauline, sons George and Joe and daughter Mary Long and her loving grandchildren Rose, Shannan and Ryan.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence from 6pm to 10pm on Thursday, and on Friday from 11am to 10pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral Mass at 11am on Saturday in St Eunans Cathedral, Letterkenny with burial afterwards in the family plot in Conwal Cemetery.

John Kelly, Greencastle

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of John Kelly, Lisheen, Greencastle.

John's remains are reposing at his home. Family time please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of his funeral.

Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday at 11am in St Mary's church, Ballybrack, Moville followed by cremation at Lakelands crematorium, Cavan.

Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny, c/o any family member.

Noel Kelly, Letterkenny

The death has taken place at his home of Noel Kelly, Pluck, Letterkenny F92 FC89 and formerly from Ballycarbery, Cahersiveen, County Kerry.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Evelyn (Ena) and family Fidelma, John and wife Cora, Michael and wife Mary, Ciaran and wife Val, and Noreen and husband Gavan, grandchildren Dylan, Lauren, Sean, Ava, Luke, Mia, James, Daniel, Emma and Ryan, brother Denis (Skibbereen, Co Cork), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbour. Noel is pre-deceased by his parents Sean and Mai and his brother John.

Noel’s remains will be reposing at his late residence on Thursday from 6pm until 10pm and on Friday from 12 noon until 10pm with Rosary both nights at 9pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from there on Saturday at 10.15am going to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed live on https://www.youtube.com/@churchoftheirishmartyrs4657 with interment afterwards in St Columba’s Church Cemetery, Drumoghill. 

Family flowers only please.  Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to Palliative Care, Donegal Hospice c/o any family member.

Alec Brown, Arranmore 

The sudden death has taken place of Alec Brown, Arranmore Island.

His remains are reposing at his home on Arranmore Island.

The house will be private after the Rosary and the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 12 noon in St Crone's Church, Arranmore. The Mass can be viewed on the St Crone’s Church Arranmore YouTube channel.

Family flowers only. Donations, in lieu, to The Arranmore Community Centre via any family member or Mc Glynn Funeral Directors.

Bridie Mc Laughlin, Buncrana

The death has taken place in Buncrana Community Hospital of Bridie McLaughlin, St Joseph's Park, Buncrana.

Daughter of the late William and Bridget McLaughlin, Sister of Michael and the late Margaret and Danny. Sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Geraldine and Sheila, nieces, nephews, family circle and close friends.

Her remains will repose at McLaughlin's Funeral home Buncrana on Thursday, with viewing from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.

Funeral from there on Friday at 9.30am going to St Mary's Oratory for 10am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the family plot in the old cemetery, Clonmany. Funeral mass can be viewed online at www.churchservices.tv/buncrana

Liam McGuirk, Dublin and Donegal

The death has occurred of Liam (Liamo) McGuirk, Inchicore, Dublin, Donegal and formerly of Islandbridge, Dublin).

Predeceased by his parents Bill and Betty, Liam will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Melanie, their children Megan, Liam, Holly and Beau, son TJ, daughter Lily and their mother Claire, brother Bernard, sister Bernadette, niece Heidi, extended family, friends and neighbours.

His remains are reposing in Stafford’s Funeral Home, Ballyfermot on Thursday from 3pm to 5pm, removal on Friday afternoon, to Newlands Cross Crematorium arriving for 1.30pm.
