Death notices for Donegal on Friday morning

The following deaths have taken place:

- Sr Helen IBVM Mc Ginty, Donegal Town and Dublin

Charlie Logan, Raphoe and London

The death has taken place of Charlie Logan, London, and formerly of The Diamond, Raphoe, County Donegal. He passed away in London on October 3 aged 78 years.

Charlie is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his devoted wife Kathleen, his children Emma, Brian, and Kevin, his cherished grandchildren, his brother Ollie, sisters Etta, Gertie and Jean, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. He will be fondly remembered by all his family in London, Raphoe, and his connections in Buncrana. Charlie was predeceased by his beloved parents Charlie and Sadie Logan, and his brothers Tommy and Willie.

A short service with prayers will also be held at the Roman Catholic Church of St Paul, Harefield UB9 6DG on Wednesday, October 15 at 7pm.

The funeral service for Charlie is at the Roman Catholic Church of St Paul, Harefield on Thursday, October 16 at 11am. For those unable to attend in person, both services can be viewed online on the church webcam Committal will take place at 12.30pm at St Mary's Church, Harefield, Church Hill, Harefield, Middlesex, UB9 6DU

After the service, you are warmly invited to join Charlie's family at The Shamrock Sports and Social Club to share a drink and memories in his honour.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, can be made to Cancer Research UK in his memory.

Bridget Lennon, London and Bruckless

The death has occurred of Bridget (Breege) Lennon, née McNern, Winchmore Hill, London and formerly Church View, Bruckless. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Predeceased by her parents Joe and Maggie McNern, she is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by husband Matty, daughter Sharon, sons Mark and Barry, daughter-in-laws Maxine and Sophy, much adored grandmother of James, Ellie, Jack, Matthew, Bea and Molly, brothers Brian, Sean, Jim, Martin, sisters Margaret and Geraldine, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, dear friend Nanda and wide circle of friends in Ireland and London.

Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 16 at St Monica’s Church, Stonard Road, Palmers Green, London N13 4DJ. Mass can be viewed on the St Monica’s webcam

Rosaleen Connolly, Lifford

The death has taken place of Rosaleen Connolly, née Harte, 4 Cluain Laoi, Coneyburrow Road, Lifford.

Beloved wife of the late Rory, much loved mother of Donal, Eileen, Roisin, Rory and the late baby Roger, dearly loved grandmother of Rosie, Darragh, Isabella and Owen and sister of Eileen, Dessie and the late Billy, John, Brian and Thomas.

Her remains are reposing at her home on Friday from 6pm. Family time please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral please. 

Funeral leaving her home on Sunday at 11.45am for Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Murlog at 12.30pm with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed live via the Parish Webcam

Bríd McGlinchey, Glencolmcille

The peaceful death has occurred at her home of Bríd McGlinchey, née McGuire, Doonalt, Glencolmcille, Donegal, F94 R7W6. She passed away peacefully in her 94th year surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Paddy, daughter Christina Byrne, her brother John James, sisters Anna, Mary Kate and Una, she is very sadly missed by her loving family: sons, Seamus, Patrick and John, daughters Josephine and Claire, sister, Sr Sarah McGuire, daughter-in-law Margaret, sons-in-law, Paddy Byrne, Eddie McLoone and Tony Winsall, grandchildren Laurena, Colm, Aisling, Eamonn, Sharon, Louise, Pauric and Emma, great-grandson Oisin, nieces and nephews.

Her remains are reposing at Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara, F94 A250 on Friday from 3pm to 5pm with removal to her late residence to repose from 6 pm until rosary at 9pm and on Saturday from 12 noon until Rosary at 9pm. House private at all other times.

Michael Friel, Kerry and Clonmany

The peaceful death has taken place of Michael Friel of Leedale, Caherslee, Tralee, County Kerry and formerly Dunaff, Clonmany.

Beloved husband of Breda and dearest father of James and Michael. He is sadly missed by his loving family, his grandchildren Elly & Rowan, daughters-in-law Brenda & Sarah, brothers Danny, Bernard, Gerard, Christy and John, sister Teresa Ann, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many good friends.

Michael's remains will repose at the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee, on Friday from 6pm to 8pm.

Funeral arriving to Our Lady and St Brendan’s Church, Tralee on Saturday at 12.30pm where the Requiem Mass for Michael will be celebrated at 1pm. Mass can be viewed on the parish webcam A private cremation will follow. 

Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to The Palliative Care Unit, UHK via Kerry Hospice Foundation or care of The Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee.

Sr Helen IBVM Mc Ginty, Donegal Town and Dublin

The death has taken place peacefully at the Beaumont Hospital of Sr Helen McGinty, IVBM, Clar, Donegal Town and formerly Loreto Convent Balbriggan and Loreto Convent Letterkenny. 

Predeceased by her parents, mother Brigid Toher and father Bernard. Deeply regretted by her Loreto Community, her sisters Kathleen Meehan (Seamus RIP), Noreen Rooney (Peter) and Mai Mac Auley (Gerry). Greatly missed by her loving nieces and nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Her remains will arrive at St Agatha’s Church, Clar, F94 N821 on Friday at approximately 6 pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass takes place on Saturday at 12 noon and may be viewed on the parish webcam with burial will be immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
