On Friday night last 300 business people and invited guests gathered in The Mount Errigal for the Letterkenny Business Awards.
This year there was a fantastic response to the awards and the finalists were keen to hear who would win the coveted awards.
The awards were presented by their sponsors and the President of Letterkenny Chamber, John Bowe.
The Business of the Year Award went to Eddie Tobin while the Hall of Fame inductee was Dermot Rainey of Sherry Fitzgerald Rainey.
Speaking at the event John Bowe congratulated all the nominees, finalists and winners: "We were all inspired by amazing businesses we have in Donegal represented at our business awards.
“This event is a true celebration of the Business success of this town and county. The awards were won by businesses from a wide range of sectors and included some new young entrepreneurs as well as many existing successful businesses. We were delighted with the quality and calibre of the entries this year making the judging process even more difficult.
“The awards give us all an opportunity to get a glimpse of the innovation, creativity and success of our local businesses."
The event also is the opportunity for the Chamber to announce the Business Person of the Year and to induct a business person into the Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame inductee Dermot Rainey said: “The Rainey family business has been thriving in Letterkenny since 1949 and - although there have been many ups, downs and moves along the way - we have always enjoyed serving the local community to the highest standard.”
Dermot added: “I feel honoured and humbled to receive this ‘Hall of Fame’ accolade in the presence of my family, friends and business colleagues.”
